Jill (Dragonfly) - Camp Director
Jill was a Girl Scout for 9 years growing up in Minnesota and is thrilled to be involved with her own daughters’ troops now. She has been volunteering with their troops for the last 6 years and is in her second year as a troop leader. She’s excited to learn the ropes and be involved in broader volunteering opportunities. |
Karen (Flicker) - Program Aide Advisor
Flicker is excited to working again with Mariana (Lago) to continue to improve the training program for our amazing Program Aides (PAs). Her first time volunteering with Rainbow Day Camp was in 2016, when she said, “How hard can it be to teach 90 girls to use power tools?” She was in Girl Scouts for 12 years as a girl, has been a troop leader for eight years, day camp volunteer for 3 years, and Service Unit Manager for 2 years. She currently advises an outdoor focused troop of Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. Her daughter, PA Kinkajou, is her motivation for volunteering with camp, and she firmly believes that every girl has the potential to change the world. |
Mariana (Lago) - Program Aide Advisor
Mariana was very active in Girl Guides in Mexico for many years, both as a girl and as a young adult troop leader for Brownies and Seniors. Her favorite parts of Guiding were camping and representing Mexico in international events, such as a Western Hemisphere Conference and a Juliette Low session at Our Cabaña (one of WAGGGS World Centers). She joined Girl Scouts when her oldest daughter became a Daisy and has been a troop leader for 9 years. She enjoys volunteering at Kirkland Rainbow Adventures and is especially excited to be working with Karen (Flicker) to revamp our PA program and improve the leadership experience for our teen Girl Scouts. This year she will be at camp with both her daughters, Wildcat and Unicorn, in the PA program. |
Katrina (Katniss) - Camp Cook
Katrina’s loved Rainbow Day Camp since 2011, when her daughter came swaggering out of camp the final day full of oodles of confidence, and the statement that, “Someday, I want to be a PA here too!” And, that day came last summer when her daughter, PA Flerck, did the Explorer program at camp while Katniss had a blast with the Sky Blue unit. Katrina was a Brownie in Hawaii in 1982, and joined scouts again 8 years ago, as a leader, when her daughter became a Daisy. Her favorite things to do with her troop are: going on adventures, watching them lead meetings and journeys with younger scouts, helping them fundraise for their 2019 trip to Our Chalet, and cooking with them! She is extremely excited to be heading up the Cooking Unit this summer, helping PAs teach younger scouts the joy of cooking healthy and fun food! |

Randi (Corn Dawg) - Crafts and Woodworking
Corn Dawg is the crafty coordinator for not only this camp, but her own multi-level Girl Scout troop of 27 girls, her neighborhood, a former craft blogger and teaches craft classes to grown ups a few times a month too! Her expertise is more of a "Jill of all Trades" because why be perfect at one thing when you can be completely imperfect at a million other things! Her favorite types of crafting is woodworking, building furniture or other smaller items, painting, anything to do with washi tape and literally giving the girls the tools they need to build their dreams. This is her second year leading the crafts corner and she could not be more excited to see what the kids come up with this year |
Stephanie (Nightingale) - Planning for Forest Green Unit
Stephanie has volunteered with Rainbow Adventure Day Camp for the past four years. Her daughter 'Otter-pop' attended each of those years as well. Stephanie led the Forest Green unit last year; this year she is leading the pre-camp planning for Forest Green, and will be a unit leader for the younger girls during the week of camp. Stephanie joined Girl Scouts when her daughter was in kindergarten and has been her troop leader these past seven years. Stephanie is also involved in Otter-pop's school plays and last year went camping with the fifth grade class from Franklin Elementary. |
Mary (Nurse Log) - Camp Health Supervisor
Nurse Log is excited to return to Rainbow Adventure as the camp nurse/first aider. She has been active in Girl Scouts in Kirkland for 9 years in the troop leader and/or camp nurse roles. She enjoys working with the girls and families so that everyone can be included at camp. During the school year, she works as a substitute nurse for Lake Washington School District. |
Cathy - Planning committee
Cathy was a previous director and continues to help at camp both in planning and being onsite at camp to help keep camp running smooth. |
Relaine (Blowfish) - Planning committee
Relaine became involved with Girl Scouts when her daughter was a kindergartner at Rainbow Adventure Day Camp and has been volunteering ever since. She is an introvert and likes to hide in the corner and work from behind the scenes, watching all the girls come together with their different personalities and working together to have fun. |
