Remember the campers are very active and often need a larger lunch than usual. Campers make a snack in their daily session at the cooking station, but this does not take the place of a substantial lunch.
We are a GREEN camp. There is no garbage pick-up at Franklin Elementary during the summer; we must pack out all garbage each day. Consider a "no-litter" lunch. Replace paper and plastic (for example: napkins, wrappers, plastic drink bottles, drink boxes, and straws) with reusable lunch bags, BPA-free water bottles, and dishwasher-safe containers. There are plenty of opportunities for girls to re-fill their water bottles, but no plastic water bottles are provided by the camp.
